Mad for chicken flower mound opening date11/19/2023 ![]() And with the support he's received so far, we'd say that was a great choice.Īs we mentioned, Mad For Chicken's menu sources inspiration from Korean cuisine so you'll find dishes infused with Korean flavors including kimchi and bulgogi. Mad For Chicken Flower Mound's owner is Edward Tan, a Flower Mound resident, who felt like his hometown Flower Mound would be the perfect location to open up Mad For Chicken. Combine it with any of their signature sauces and that's a winning combination in our book! That double-fry method creates a perfectly crunchy exterior with an extremely tender and flavorful interior. ![]() The manager/owner should remember that it only takes one bad experience, especially if it is the first impression, to leave a bad review and never look back again.Flower Mound residents have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Mad For Chicken for months and showed up to support their Grand Opening a few weeks ago with huge numbers! So, what is it about this new restaurant that has everyone so excited? If we had to guess, it's their reputation of their double-fried Korean-inspired chicken wings. Unless you want to become “MAD AT CHICKEN”, I do not recommend here. Since I have not tried at other branches, I cannot comment on those nearby, but this Flower Mound location was a total disappointment. We heard the main branch in New York is great, but there seems to be quite a disconnect and no quality control over local branches. It was not mopped clean from daily oil adhesion. The restaurant floo r was so sticky and you could hear a popping sound when you lift your foot under the table. The clam chowder tasted like the soup base was from a store bought instant food. The quesadilla tasted precooked and just heated before serving. The chicken was soggy with oil and the batter did not have any salt. Quite honestly, this was the worst tasting chicken restaurant I have ever been to. If you are Korean chicken lovers, this place should be avoided. The only good thing is the popcorn … – showĪfter tying out, we became “MAD AT CHICKEN”. We paid $30 total and I feel that is too much for the poor experience my wife and I had. I did not enjoy either of their signature sauces, which is what our server recommended. The wings were okay if you like Korean style wings. ![]() The quesadillas with bulgogi were boring, with the toppings overpowering everything inside. If you care about good food I would go elsewhere as well. If you care about service, I would not recommend this place. This is two people in a booth sharing an app and entree, and there's only two other tables inside. It took almost 50 minutes from when we ordered to get our appetizer. You'd think they care about the people eating inside who will tip. A table that ordered well after us got their food first, apparently ours was never put in and was behind 4 other orders now our server informed us. Service was fast to take orders and get drinks. Started off great, seated fast (nearly empty at 7 on a Saturday), got delicious popcorn like a Mexican place gives chips and salsa. So I would rather drive to The Colony to get Bon Chon than go to a place where it's unreliable and does not seem to give importance to customers. I was extremely disappointed for their lack of effort to explain what went wrong. The whole time I sat and waited, no one - not a manager, not a kitchen staff - explained what happened nor apologized. When I got my order I checked again and they did not give me another set of radish for the 2nd combo. My order was not complete until right before 12:30. The hostess apologized but she could not explain what happened. Then 18 minutes later, I'm still waiting. I had to be somewhere at a certain time and that was the reason why I placed an order online early. That's so bizarre because I got a confirmation email that there's 2 orders. So the n the hostess checked with the kitchen staff and she told me that they only prepared one combo because their system only showed one order. I got there right at 12 and they just gave me 1 order - good thing I checked before leaving. So I placed an online order in their website at 11:30 am for 2 medium wings-drumsticks combo. ![]() But my last experience with them on Saturday is the last time I will visit this place and will stop recommending it to friends because it was not pleasant at all. Sometimes the food is great, sometimes the wings are very dry and overcooked.
